Not a lot Lately

I thought I was getting back into creating but the last few weeks have been very iffy even after I cleaned up my space and made a little bit more room. I really don't have that much space to work with or quiet either whenever the hubs is at home. I try very hard to make what I have work, yet I still find myself wishing for that extra room that I can call my own, ALLLLLLL MINE!

In order to cut out fabric and have a symblance of a table this is what I have to do. Take 6 TV tray tables of all the same height, if they aren't find books or so forth to make the smaller tables as tall as the others. In the pics I only have 5 cause the 6th one had stuff all over it and I didn't feel like moving the stuff. I use masking tape to tape down the corners of the cutting cardboard mat to the tv tables to keep it steady and not moving as I work. Also liberally dot area with curious kitties. The last thing is a must, kitties.

I also finally got around to make a duct tape dummy, FINALLY, I hate it. I'm gonna save up my money and get me a dress form but so far, can't seem to find any that size up to my measurements. What a horrible wake up call. :(

Here is a top I made that didn't come out right because I didn't double check the knit fabric before cutting. The stretch is going up and down instead of side to side. It works as a sleep shirt and a bathingsuit cover up. So I guess it wasn't a total loss. I guess next time i'll follow the directions better too. I found the instructions on Burda Style in the free patterns section. I was also trying to use fabric I had on hand.

Vacation Creations

I have pics of the stuff I made over my Holiday/Vacation. Unfortunately one of the hats I made, I didn't get a pic of before I gave it away to my coworkers 1yr old daughter. I was going to get more of the yarn I used but Hobby Lobby was out. I hope they get some more in cause I want to do another hat in that color. It was originally going to be for my 5yr old niece but the hat just seemed to small. Since Hobby lobby didn't have the original yarn, I had to find something else.

Skinny tube scarf knitted on Kniffty knitter flower loom out of the yarn my daughter originally wanted to make a larger tube scarf from but we only had 1 skein and it was a Joanns exclusive yarn.

Skinny scarf made for my 5yr old niece. This stuff is heavenly super soft and luckily for me I still have 2 skiens left to make something for myself.

This is the hat that I made for my 5yr old niece with the new yarn. I like this yarn but I had to couple it with another yarn to make it a bit thicker. I coupled it with a very soft black yarn. If I had 2 skiens, I could have just doubled it. Might try that some other time. The yarn is very cool, I think.

With the brimmed rolled up:

Here is a large scarf/wrap that I made using another Hobby Lobby yarn called Chocolate Souffle. I used the red loom, wrapping 3 pegs and skipping one.

I am on a friggin roll here with these Kniffty Knitter looms. I started another hat using white bulky chenille and this silvery grey fun fur stuff. I'm calling it Ice Princess. The brim of the hat has none of the fun fur because it would be itchy, so just the main part of the hat will have it. I didn't want to go to bed because I wanted to keep on knitting the hat. I have other color ideas for hats and scarves. I'm also going to attempt to make a pillow out of one of the pattern books I bought, I just need a pillow form to put it on.

I made a boucle pom-pom while showing my daughter how to make them and decided to turn it into a scarf pin or just a plain shirt pin with some wire and shiny plastic beads, we'll see how that goes.

Wee Update

No lack of ideas, not much in the way of creating. I had really hoped to get something made over the Thanksgiving holiday. I did manage to get a stuffed fish sewn up that has been sitting for about a year. I also got a doll form sewn, turned and started the stuffing process. I drew the doll about a year or so ago, inspired by a wonderful beader in Italy. I double stitched the seam on the doll so that it would have less stress after being stuffed. I definetly need to make some modifications to the pattern but over all, I like it. The pattern somewhat resembles the goddess symbol and dance all at the same time. You might think, oh she'll call the doll, Goddess of Dance, nope that will be one name but I've decided to call the current doll, Celebration of Dance. She has a very cool fabric that is blue and swirly looking, it evokes the feeling of movement for me when I look at it. This particular doll pattern was also inspired by a beaded face that I have yet to finish. I wanted the pattern to evoke movement and I feel that is portrays that.

I think that I'm going to try and work on old WIP's and get them done and out of the way to hopefully make room for more. LOL! Maybe this slump is telling me to finish things before starting something new so that I don't have those half assed projects hanging over my head, weighing my shoulders down. Somewhere in the back of my head they nag at me on a subconcious level. I don't have to many WIP's at the moment but I have a few.

I've lost my energy

So I was really on this thing for making scarves. I have numerous color combos I want to do but I seem to have lost the UMPH to get them started or even finished for that matter. I'm working on #4 and have only done like 4 rows and I started it about a week ago. I need something, I just don't know exactly what it is. I'm tired of this funk. I'm tired of the whirlwind spurts of creativity that are gone as fast as they show up. I try to force myself to finish something when i'm not in the mood for it and I get frustrated over it, mess up or whatever. UGH!

Still Kicking

Yes, i'm still here. Nothing creative lately, still no lack of ideas though. I'm working on getting reorganized and doing some spring cleaning, destashing and all that other goood stuff. The last few weeks, I really haven't had time for much of anything. Each weekend has been busy, each evening busy and when it's not I'm so tired from the rest of the days that I just don't want to do anything. I have been focusing a bit on losing weight and that is going well. I would love to lose more and faster but I'm not pushing it because I want it to stay off, not come back in a few months. So, hopefully within the next week or two I will have some destash stuff up in my Etsy account. Those of you that still come and read this blog, I will also post notice here that I have new stuff listed. I really need to declutter and pair down not just in my crafting supplies but my life as well. That is where my main focus is at the moment. I'm crossing fingers and praying that in the next couple of months I will be able to move. I'm prepping for that, yeah I know it's early but one can never be to early when packing for a move. LOL!

I'm still here

I know it's been awhile. The past few months have been a bit hectic to say the least. As far as craftiness goes, it's been about non-existent production wise. I have plenty of ideas which I really need to write down before I forget them. Right now I'm somewhat focusing on getting some things organized and sorted out. I started belly dance class about 3-4 weeks ago and i've been focusing on that some. Most of the ideas and designs coming to me are belly dance related. I'm hoping that in the next week or two that life will slow down a bit and give me some time after I get some things sorted. It's time for some spring cleaning and I want to get that out of the way before I start working on things again. So, I'm still here and I miss creating but other things are taking precedence right now.
